Memorial Day Weekend reminds me
of iris in bloom
cemeteries bursting with flags & flowers
soldiers fallen in cemeteries across the sea
parents ~ peaceful at last?
nephews, too soon weary of this realm
stone reminders marking time
Now, I prefer to create a different sort of memorial weekend
full of desert
solitude
sky
timeless, endless vistas eroding into the future
listening to the sounds of wings
as eternity flies by
